You are my waves, and I am Your fish. You are my Lord and Master; I wait at Your Door. You are my Creator, and I am Your servant. I have taken to Your Sanctuary, O God, most profound and excellent. You are my life, You are my Support. Beholding You, my heart-lotus blossoms forth. You are my salvation and honor; You make me acceptable. You are All-powerful, You are my strength. Night and day, I chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the treasure of excellence. This is Nanak’s prayer to God.

Just another thought for your consideration.
Please do not use “GOD” forSupreme Being – Akal Purukh. GOD is a proper noun and name of the Supreme Being in Christianity. The concept and attributes of GOD in Christianity are much different from those of Sikh Religion. Names can not be replaced by another name, even when translating any prose of poetry. Thus, I suggest use. Lord, Supreme Being, or better still Akal Purukh or Oankar. Aftr all SGGS starts with Ik Oankar. Oankar is the unique name given by Guru Nanak Dev jee in Gurbani and Guru Gobind Singh jee said, “Khalsa Akal Purukh Kee Fauj”.
