Shabad Interpretation in English:

As Gurmukh, obtain the true wealth. Accept the Will of God as True. Live, live, live forever. Rise early each day, and drink in the Nectar of the Lord. With your tongue, chant the Name of the Lord Waheguru. In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the One Name alone shall save you. Nanak speaks the wisdom of God.

    I am hoping you will say that it is your voice in the background – another wonderful production! As always a beautifully sung Shabad; such energy and pleasant harmonics and rhythms. It brings the deep message of Gurbani so clearly and precisely to ones mind.

In a very short time, you have changed the seen of Gurbani Kirtan on the Cybershere elevating the professionalism in the production and the standard of the finished product to another higher level totally.

      That voice in the background isn’t mine. Its Mr. Sonu Khanna the incharge of instrumental music for our recordings. It happened like this – during the recording of this Shabad Mr. Sonu Khanna got so carried away with the Shabad singing and the composition that he felt like adding his bit in the background. He wanted us to delete it later but we didn’t have the heart of editing it. He is a very good musician.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥
    ओअंकारि ब्रहमा उतपति ॥
    O▫ankār barahmā uṯpaṯ.
    From Ongkaar, the One Universal Creator God, Brahma was created.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ॥
    ओअंकारु कीआ जिनि चिति ॥
    O▫ankār kī▫ā jin cẖiṯ.
    He kept Ongkaar in his consciousness.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਸੈਲ ਜੁਗ ਭਏ ॥
    ओअंकारि सैल जुग भए ॥
    O▫ankār sail jug bẖa▫e.
    From Ongkaar, the mountains and the ages were created.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਬੇਦ ਨਿਰਮਏ ॥
    ओअंकारि बेद निरमए ॥
    O▫ankār beḏ nirma▫e.
    Ongkaar created the Vedas.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਧਰੇ ॥
    ओअंकारि सबदि उधरे ॥
    O▫ankār sabaḏ uḏẖre.
    Ongkaar saves the world through the Shabad.

    ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰੇ ॥
    ओअंकारि गुरमुखि तरे ॥
    O▫ankār gurmukẖ ṯare.
    Ongkaar saves the Gurmukhs.

    ਓਨਮ ਅਖਰ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
    ओनम अखर सुणहु बीचारु ॥
    Onam akẖar suṇhu bīcẖār.
    Listen to the Message of the Universal, Imperishable Creator Lord.

    Listen, O Pandit, O religious scholar, why are you writing about worldly debates?

    लिखु राम नाम गुरमुखि गोपाला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
    Likẖ rām nām gurmukẖ gopālā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
    As Gurmukh, write only the Name of the Lord, the Lord of the World. ||1||Pause||

    I accidentally came across shabads from your website about ten days ago, and since then i have been mesmerized by the offering that you have.
    My perception always has been that, even though our Gurbani is written in music, it is very difficult to come across truly superb recital of the shabads as they were intended. You have a superb blend of music, musical instruments and the voices of your four ladies who are the front image to all this.
    It takes a tremendous effort by a lot of people. I just offer my prayers towards your group to continue doing what you are doing.
    If I would add one suggestion that would be if you could offer gurbani just in instrumental music. Shall await for your response.

      Thanks Dilbir Singh Ji for your appreciation of our efforts. Prayers of well wishers would help us to keep singing Guru’s Bani to the best of ability bestowed by The Almighty. I would request you to further elaborate on your suggestion regarding offering “gurbani just in instrumental music.”

    Beautiful shabds sung by ladies in their sweet melodious voice. They should be allowed to sing in Darbar Sahib, and given equal access to other sewa too.

    Waheguru Ji Ka Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh – excellent, keep it up. Any chance of publishing the sargam notation for this shabad. Guru Raakhaa.

      Thanks for the appreciation. Regarding the sargam notation of this shabad, I would try to right it down, give me some time, these days I am busy with some new project.
