O my soul, blessed is that tongue that sings the glorious praises of the the Almighty God. Sublime and splendid are those ears, O my soul, which listen to the praises of You, my Lord. Sublime, pure and sacred is that head, O my soul, which falls at Guru’s feet. Nanak surrenders to the Guru, O my soul, who has placed the Name of the Lord, in my consciousness.

ਓ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ, ਓਹ ਜੀਭ ਧਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਿਹੰਦੀ ਹੈ. ਓਹ ਕਨ ਉਤਮ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਲਾਯਕ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰੇਹਨਦੇ ਹਨ. ਉਸ ਮਨੁਖ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਉਤਮ ਤੇ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਝੁਕਦਾ ਹੈ. ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂ ਵਸਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ.

ओ मेरी आत्मा, वह जीह्वा धन्य है जो प्रभू गुण गान मे मस्त रहती है. वह श्रवण उत्तम और शोभा लायक हैं जो परमात्मा की कीर्ति सुनते हैं. उस मनुष्य का शीश उत्तम और पवित्र है जो गुरु के चरणों पे झुकते हैं. नानक उस गुरु पे बलिहार जाते हैं जिस ने चिंतन मे प्रभु का वास करवा दिया है.
