maam when to use komal ni in tukhari in arohi can komal ni be used could you kindly explain the usage of komal ni in tukhari raaga

    • Dr. Manbir Singh says:

Both nishads are used in Tukhari. Sudh nishad in fact is used in both aroh and avroh. Komal nishad is used only in avroh that too very slightly for example: Pa n n n Dha Pa. This slight use of komal; nishad that too with the help of shudh dhaivat and pancham makes infact the pakar of tukhari. Without komal nishad, tukhari would not have been a raag tukhari. For this please hear this shabad, Antar Piri Payaar which I have sung in raag Tukhari.
