O my friend, the rain showers down from the clouds and my beloved guest has arrived in my abode. I am meek and my Lord is the Ocean of Mercy. Absorb me into the treasures of Naam of the Lord. O brother, What are you so worried about? What are you thinking? What have you tried? One whose succourer is the world-sustainer, what he has to worry about ? I have prepared all sorts of foods in various ways, and all sorts of sweet deserts. I have made my kitchen pure and sacred. Now, O my sovereign Lord King, please sample my food. When the Lord himself resides in my mansion all the vices are destroyed and everyone is delighted.  When my playful Beloved came into my household, I found total peace and contentment. In the society of the Saints, I am destined to have the support and protection of the perfect Guru. Nanak has found his playful husband Lord and shall never suffer in sorrow again.

ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ!  ਬਦਲ ਬਰਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਰੂਪੀ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਹਣੇ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ. ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਦੀਨ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ਜੀ. ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਚਿਤਵਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਕ ਆਪ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ? ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਲੂਣੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਬੜੀ ਸੁਚ ਨਾਲ ਰਸੋਈ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਆਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ! ਹੁਣ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਕੋ. ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਰੂਪੀ ਘਰ ਨੂ ਆਪਣਾਅ ਲਏਆ, ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆਦਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ. ਜਦੋਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆ ਵਸਿਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਨੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ. ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ. ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਦ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਦੁਖ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀ ਆਏਯਾ।
