Singing Your glorious praises, my mind is rejuvenated. Hearing Your sermons, all the dirt in my mind is cleansed. In the company of Holy men, I meditate forever on the Merciful Lord.
I dwell on God with each and every breath. This comprehension has been implanted within my mind by Guru’s grace. By Your grace, the divine light dawns in everyone. And You only cherish everyone.
O dear, the Almighty is the truth and the ultimate truth. And, He is forever and ever by Himself. Nanak is enraptured beholding the vision of Your wonderful creation.

This is one of my favourite Shabads in the “Raag Ratan….” album (6 CDs) by Gurmat Gian Group (GGG). My joint review of this album with Dr I J Singh of USA, “Celebration & Hope: Sikh Sacred Music”, has been well received by some publications. It goes to the credit of the Group led by Bibi Gurpreet Kaur ji, that the article has also been published under the more apt title, “The Sacred Music: Women to the Fore” by The Sikh Review as guest editorial in the April 2011 issue. May Waheguru bless the GGG to continue with Kirtan seva for many years to come.

Yes, the article by yourself & Dr. I.J. Singh ji has traveled many places and has given lot of exposure and appreciation to Gurmat Gian Group. It given us lots of encouragement. Many thanks to both of you. We received many calls from those who read it in The Sikh Review.
You must have realized that this shabad ‘Sun Sun Jeeva Soay Tumharee’ in Raag Maajh has a little different singing ‘andaaz’. I did not follow the routine practice of picking up the ‘antra’ at the ‘sum’. In fact most of the shabad has been sung in ‘khulla andaz’ without sticking to the ten beats of Jhap Taal. Every time, only at the time of ‘sathaee’ the ‘sum’ is shown at ‘Jeeva’. I had picked up this shaylee from my teacher Pandit Sharma when I was doing Honours in Indian Classical Music.
